Shoe Size Conversion Chart — mm, US, UK, EU, JP, CN, Mondopoint
Foot lengths from 215 to 310 mm in 5 mm steps, matched to Korean mm, Japanese cm, Chinese 码, Mondopoint, European EU, British UK and US men's and women's sizes in one chart.
How to read this chart
The leftmost column is foot length. Korea (KS M 6681), Japan (JIS S 5037), China (GB/T 3293.1) and the international Mondopoint standard (ISO 9407) all state foot length in mm, so these four systems are essentially the same number. The differences arise in systems such as the US, UK and European ones, which are based on the length of the shoe last.
A last is about 1.5–2 cm longer than the foot. So for the same foot length, US, UK and EU numbers shift by half a size depending on how much toe room each brand allows. This chart is based on the common pattern seen in the size charts of major sportswear brands in Korea and abroad (10 mm of foot length = one US size; 250 mm = US men's 7 = UK 6).
- UK → EU is calculated from the unit definitions of both systems. One UK size = 1/3 inch (barleycorn) and one European size = 2/3 cm (Paris point), so EU ≈ (UK + 25) × 1.27.
- US women's is set to men's + 1 in this chart, matching the definition of the US footwear industry standard (FIA). However, the older customary scale uses +1.5, so some brands label women's sizes half a size larger.
- Chinese 码 (ma) is a customary label commonly calculated as ‘foot length (cm) × 2 − 10’. 250 mm is size 40码.

Why half-size differences appear
The numbers in this chart may look half a size different from the labels on shoes you own. In most cases that is not an error but a difference in how the systems are converted. Using the standard approximation compiled by Wikipedia (US men's ≈ 3 × foot length (inch) − 22), 250 mm comes out as US 7.5, while sportswear brand charts list US 7. One US size step is 1/3 inch (about 8.5 mm), but Asian retail charts simplify it to 10 mm, so the gap between the two methods grows slightly as feet get larger.
Check foot width separately
A length size tells you nothing about width. Japan's JIS assigns width grades such as E, 2E, 3E and 4E by ball girth for each foot length, and the US uses grades such as B (women's standard), D (men's standard), 2E and 4E. One US width grade is about 5 mm (3/16 inch). If your feet are wide, looking for a wide model before going up half a length size is the way to keep a proper amount of room at the toes. Detailed measuring steps are in How to measure foot length and width.
Before you buy
- Even within one brand, shoes built on different lasts — running shoes, basketball shoes, dress shoes — fit differently.
- When buying from a foreign site, first look at the brand's own size chart based on foot length (cm), and use this chart as a reference for moving between systems.
- If your feet differ in length, go by the longer one.
