Kids' Size Conversion Chart — Children's Shoes (C/Y) and Clothing (Height) with Approximate Ages
Shoe sizes for children's foot lengths of 100–225 mm (KR, JP, EU, UK, US C/Y) and clothing sizes for heights of 80–164 cm (KR, JP, EU, UK, US), with approximate ages.
Kids' sizes use different systems from adults'
Children's shoes in the UK and US use a different numbering scale from adults. In the UK, kids' 0–13.5 is followed by adult 1; in the US, children's (C, Child) 13.5 is followed by youth (Y, Youth) 1. So the number ‘US 1’ alone does not tell you whether it is a baby shoe or a shoe for a primary-school child. Always check the C or Y.
For children's clothing, most countries use height as the basis. Korea and Japan use height directly as the size (110 = height of about 110 cm), and Europe uses heights in 6 cm steps (104, 110, 116 …). The UK uses age ranges such as ‘4–5 years’, and the US uses 2T, 3T, 4T (Toddler) followed by numbers such as 5, 6, 7 ….
The kids' shoe chart is based on the common pattern in major sportswear brands' children's size charts (10 mm of foot length = one US size; 160 mm = US 10C), and European sizes are calculated using the Paris point step.

Treat the age column as a reference only
The age column is an approximation based on the middle of growth records (around the median). Height and foot length vary greatly between children of the same age, so always choose sizes from measurements you take yourself. This chart is not a tool for assessing growth or development and does not replace a diagnosis.
Choosing children's shoes
- It is common to allow about 1 cm of room beyond the foot length. Shoes that are too big let the foot slide back and forth and make walking unsteady.
- Young children's feet grow fast, so measure again every two to three months.
- Children often cannot say when something is uncomfortable. After putting the shoes on, check that about one finger fits behind the heel and that the top of the foot is not pressed.
