Compare men's tops, suits and bottoms, women's tops, dresses and bottoms, and bra underbust and cup sizes across Korean, US, UK, European, Italian, French and Japanese systems at a glance.
The numbers on labels vary by country, but most of them come from the same body measurements: chest, waist and hip circumference. This chart therefore takes the representative body measurements of each system and puts the closest sizes on the same row.
Korea: KS K 0050 (menswear) and KS K 0051 (womenswear) use chest circumference directly as the size designation (hochin). Men's 100 means a chest of about 100 cm, and women's S means 85 cm. The Korean sizes 44, 55 and 66 are older customary labels that roughly correspond to XS, S and M.
Europe (Germany): women's size ≈ chest (cm) ÷ 2 − 6. A chest of 88 cm is size 38. France adds +2 to this, and Italy +6 (chest ÷ 2).
United States: women's sizes use the body measurement tables of ASTM D5585-11e1. UK sizes are commonly matched as US + 4.
Japan: the women's sizes of JIS L 4005 (5, 7, 9, 11号 …) are spaced 3–4 cm apart in bust circumference.
Men's suits and tops: the correspondence between Korean sizes (chest cm) and European, US and Japanese suit sizes follows national comparison tables.
A ‘—’ in the chart means the size is outside that system's standard range. Because systems with different spacing are fitted onto the same rows, the same size sometimes appears on two rows.

When your measurements point to different sizes
It is common to get M for the chest but L for the hips. For fitted garments such as dresses and jackets, it is safer to choose the size for your largest measurement and have it taken in. For stretchy knits, one size smaller may still fit. The converter's ‘Find by measurements’ shows the larger size according to this rule.
How to read bra sizes
A bra size is set by two values: underbust circumference (band) and the bust − underbust difference (cup). Korea, Japan and Europe state the underbust in 5 cm steps (70, 75, 80), the UK and US in inches (32, 34, 36); France adds 15 to the European value, and Italy uses small numbers such as 1, 2, 3.
Cups need care. The European standard EN 13402 sets a 10–12 cm difference as AA and goes up one cup every 2 cm, while Korea and Japan set 10 cm as A and go up every 2.5 cm. That is why the same body can be a Korean 75B yet come out closer to 75A by the European standard. The letter sequences also differ: the UK uses DD, E, F, FF after D, and the US uses DD, DDD after D. Before you buy
Foreign brands often publish a ‘body measurement chart’ and a ‘garment measurement chart’ separately. Compare the body chart with this chart, and compare garment measurements with clothes you already own.
Even for the same ‘M’, US brands tend to run about one size larger than Korean brands (US letter M is a chest of about 97–104 cm).
